6. Alto Canto Reposado
Distilled at 9,000 feet above sea level, Alto Canto uses traditional brick ovens, a volcanic tahona and malolactic fermentation. Aged four months in new American oak, it’s unexpectedly deep, almost reading more like an añejo than a lesser-aged repo. The nose shows caramelized agave, almonds, apricot and saline minerality. The palate shifts into roasted coffee, nutmeg, yeast and black pepper. The finish is toasty with barrel char and bitter coffee notes.
